"Nitrous will blow your engine"You must have heard that one by the 'experts'. Fact is, it's just not true.I am an agent for Wizards of Nos nitrous systems (Highpower) which are made here in the UK. Highpower have over 25 years of experience in Nitrous and are the world leaders in Nitrous technology. They actually work to improve the systems (unlike the US kits) and strive to keep the end price down while supplying the safest kits your money can buy. Highpower systems have made significant design improvements over the generic based systems that are freely available, and the scare stories you may have heard are mosty likely to have come from a generic system (US kits). I often have people say to me, "My WoN kit at 25hp doesn't give me a kick in power, it just goes better". The answer is simple, your WoN kit is superior. If your nitrous system gives a kick when activated, that's bad for your engine! The kick comes from poor mixture delivery and the sudden bang in your engine is what does damage. If your nitrous system gives a kick, it's either a US style system or there's something wrong with it! WoN systems deliver much smoother power increases which is why we can add more power without causing damage and for those people who have converted from a generic US system to WoN components, all have reported better power gains and smoother power delivery often recording new personal best times and ETs. At one show alone, I had two people come to me to tell me that their US kit nitrous solenoids had jammed open causing engine damage. One destroyed a piston, the other caused a huge inlet backfire which cracked the manifold. US solenoids require regular servicing to avoid this problem. WoN solenoids are designed differently and should never require servicing. Superior quality.
Made in the UK also means that there's no problem getting spares or with gas bottles meeting the British Standards (see the refills section) and Highpower offers a lifetime warranty on their kits and gaurantee their products will not be the direct cause of engine failure. That's not to say you couldn't add 200hp to an XR2i, but you'd need to do signifciant mods to the base engine first.
Whilst we don't guarantee that a customers engine/components will be capable of withstanding the extra power, as long as WoN nitrous system is installed and used correctly to an engine in good condition without any weaknesses in the original design then there is no need to worry about premature engine wear or failure. If you are having a kit fitted by us, where necessary we will provide an engine test to determine the state of your engine for piece of mind before fitting the kit and if possible produce software based dyno graphs to show the performance increase.
