Here is quoted text from the owner of the Wizards of Nos.

Although you’ve been happy with your US brand products you've used, there are a few factors you should consider; 1) I’d guess that you’re using staged kits rather than progressive delivery and even if you’re using progressive delivery, it’s only over the first 0.5 secs of use. This assessment is based on what I know to be the normal procedure for the use of US brand kits. With that in mind, it is most likely that during a typical run, your solenoid will operate ONCE. In comparison, most of my customers use our products progressively and to such an extent, that the Pulsoids will be switching on and off (pulsing) for the entire run, which means they may have operated ‘up to’ FIVE HUNDRED TIMES compared to your ONCE. This means that run for run, my Pulsoids should suffer FIVE HUNDRED TIMES THE WEAR and yet our Pulsoids NEVER wear. If you ‘tried’ to operate your solenoid at that frequency, it wouldn’t even open and even if you reduced the frequency by FOUR FOLD (down to 125 times in a run), although it would open it would VERY QUICKLY FAIL TERMINALLY and need at least servicing or replacing, within JUST A COUPLE OF RUNS. I know this to be a FACT, because I have customers who have tried to do what we do (with our Pulsoids), using US brand solenoids, before they got sick of servicing them and upgraded to our Pulsoids, never to need to ever do it again.

2) Holley (current owners of NOS) paid for me to visit them when they bought NOS, to give them an appraisal of their products. When I told them they were garbage and gave them all the reasons why, they accepted that was the case (as they had NO evidence to the contrary) and when I offered to sell them my Pulsoids (which they’d CONTINUOUSLY pulse tested for more than SIX MONTHS by that time), they said; If we do that it would be financial suicide, as we make most of our profit from selling solenoid service kits, so they declined to switch to our Pulsoids. FACT!

3) The reason all the different brands of (US) kits you’ve used have performed the same, is because the major components are all made by the same company and/or to identical designs, so it’s hardly surprising. Our components and system designs are UNIQUE and that’s because we have designed them with one purpose in mind and that is to be the best at what they are required to do.

4) Nitrous kits are like anything else (let’s take women for example), unless you tried living with them ALL, how do you know the one you have is the best? Sure she may be reliable for a few years (like your NOS kit) but if you demanded more from her and you expected her to do the housework quicker, would she be as reliable then or would another woman be better???

Advantages of Wizards Systems Over Other Systems

  • Superior solenoid design has greater reliability and makes 6 hourly servicing not necessary.
  • Superior solenoid design improves nitrous flow rate.
  • Wizards solenoids are the only solenoids designed to be pulsed for use with progressive controllers.
  • Wizards solenoids have a lower current draw, meaning easier wiring.
  • Superior bottle valve design uses pressure relief valve system rather than outdated blow-off discs.
  • Superior bottle valve design has an improved flow rate.
  • Wizards nylon lines have a better flow rate than US braided lines.
  • Wizards nylon lines can be cut to fit your car rather than the standard 16ft of braided tucked under your seat.
  • Wizards nylon lines cannot cause electrical fire hazards like metal braided.
  • Superior injector design provides better fuel atomization.
  • Superior jet location reduces initial mixture 'lean-out' not good for engines.
  • Superior jet location means only one pair of jets even on multi-injector set-ups.
  • Superior jet location results in more accurate mixture distribution with multi-injector set-ups.
  • Wizards fittings use UK standard threads, unlike the American National (AN) thread not readily available here.
  • Wizards systems have smoother power delivery and better torque performance. *Independantly proved by Performance Ford magazine
  • Wizards kits are easily upgradeable
  • Wizards kits are made in England meaning better customer and spares support.
  • The Americans may have been using N2O for years, but they use outdated technology and components that are not as reliable as our kits. Fact is, they do not need to improve their technology, because people buy it and presume they are getting good stuff from a well known name. WON kits are the best, sure you may find cheaper, but not better.

The Wizards of NOS, (Highpower or WON) use patented Pulsoid valve technology that far exceeds the dated American kit designs in terms of flow rate, reliability and control. The American design means that the gas has to pass five 90 degree bends inside the solenoid when activated. Highpower's patented pulsoid design means only one bend, greatly improving flow rate and reducing pressure drop across the solenoid.

American kits are also jetted at the injectors - which is not the best option. If there is any air in the lines after the fuel solenoid (which there will be when all fuel has evaporated), then the fuel cannot reach the motor until it has pushed all this air through the smaller fuel jet at the inlet manifold end (injector) on US style systems. This increases the time it takes to for fuel to arrive at the motor, meaning the mixture can go lean for an instant, when you hit the button on US style systems, as the nitrous reaches the engine first (also because the nitrous jet is bigger and the air is pushed through it faster under 800psi nitrous pressure). This can start destructive detonation off even if you don't notice the delay, or it can result in an instant intake backfire as you hit the Nitrous button off the line due to the initial weak mixture (this has been known to fracture inlet manifolds and blow off air filters). This 'lean-out' is what gives the US systems the 'kick' feel when the system is activated. Feels great, but is much worse for the engine with the sudden extra load on components. If you feel anything other than a smooth increase in power on a Wizards system, it is not working properly! Smoother delivery reduces the risk of clutch slip, noted by the Performance Ford magazine comparison.

If it's jetted at the solenoid valve outlet like our systems, then the correct flow of fuel starts instantly as there is no restrictive jet at the end of the line that you have to first push the air through first.

If you have an American kit, you can upgrade it to use Highpower Pulsoid valves and injectors.

I often get people say "yeah but it's still more for a Wizards kit". They are correct, but you can rest assured that the extra is being used to constantly improve the design and reliability of the systems rather than just selling the same tat. All I offer is the truth Neo.

Highpower nitrous kits are the only kits recognised by major UK insurance companies (e.g. Adrian Flux) and adding N2O to your car can effect your premium from as little as £40.

    How do I know?

I actually had a American kit fitted to one of my cars. It was more difficult to fit, the braided line is less flexible and I had to loop the excess line round the front of the car, was extremely difficult to get spare parts for and cost me more than a Highpower kit after I got all the parts I needed. Most importantly, due to the inferior quality of this kit, I was not confident enough in the quality to use it and risk damage to my engine! I converted it to run fake purge instead and first time I tried it I couldn't shut the bottle valve off and all the solenoid joints leaked.

That's why I'm an agent for Highpower, who are the Wizards of NOS.

No other manufacturer is confident to offer a lifetime warranty for their products.
That sums it up, don't risk it, fit the best.
